Welcome!

I'm Mr. 24 and I write guides for video games. I recommend clicking on the Table of Contents for the game you want, or using the Magic Search Box, rather than sifting through the posts for the one you need.

Enjoy!

Final Fantasy XII - 11 - Bhujerba and Lhusu Mines

Overview: Once you arrive in Bhujerba you won't be able to leave for some time. However, unlike earlier portions of the game, such as when you enter the palace, you will have access to the shops and healing crystals at all times, making this almost a non-issue. I recommend upgrading everyone's weapons and armor when you arrive

Bhujerba/ Aerodrome
Guide: A Teleport Crystal! That you can't use. Rats, moving on then.
Bhujerba/ Travica Way
Guide: This area has most of the shops in Bhujerba, and some lovely views. It also branches off to many different areas. At the first intersection, near Rithil's Protectives, is a moogle selling maps. Alas, most of the secondary areas are blocked off by everyone's favorite pain in the ass, Imperials. So, with your new friend in tow, head south and east to Miner's End.

Bhujerba/ Miner's End
Guide: Two more shops here, but your destination is the right fork on the northern end.

Bhujerba/ Lhusu Square
Guide: Lovely place this. Very convenient Save Crystal. Make use of it, grab some last minute items from the Seeq if you feel the need, then head into the mines.

Lhusu Mines/ Shaft Entry
Enemies: Steeling, Skeleton, Skull Defender
Guide: Your goal is south and west, from the main tunnel, head south through the westernmost side tunnel to quickly reach the exit to the next area. However, the eastern side tunnel leads to some rooms with chests in them, and are worth exploring. Watch out for the Skeletons, they like to cast annoying status effect Spells like Slow, Blind, and Silence. And the Skull Defenders have a nice little move called Bone Toss that can do well over 100 damage, so be careful. Also, I recommend a constant Libra Gambit, as this and upcoming areas are thick with traps.

Lhusu Mines/ Oltam Span
Enemies: Steeling, Skeleton, Skull Defender, Aerieel (Rare Game)
Guide: The chests, if you're wondering, spawn on the side walkways if they spawn at all. Also, the ground is full of skeletons! How fun. As you cross the span they like to pop up and attack, so move with purpose.

Lhusu Mines/ Transitway 1
Enemies: Skeleton, Skull Defender, Steeling
Treasure: You can sometimes find a Killer Bow in a chest in the main passage.
Guide: The side path might seem like a good choice to avoid the monsters, but it's full of traps. Head north, as the other paths are blocked off by giant gates.

Lhusu Mines/ Shunia Twinspan
Enemies: Skeleton, Skull Defender, Steeling
Guide: Ah yes. This map is quite famous. Some call it Skeleton Hell, I call it the Unlimited Skeleton Works. In short, it's the single best training spot in the first third of the game. As you go across the span, the Skeletons just keep coming, and you can move back and forth. If you exhaust the impressive supply of skeletons on the map, heading two maps away, to the Oltman Span for instance, 'resets' the skeletons, and they'll all come back. I won't lie, I have often trained my active party to level 20 here. You can either train with Lamont in your party, and he'll use his unlimited Hi-Potion supply to help you, or if you come back a bit later, you'll have Cura but no Lamont, so it's your call.  If you're not doing any training right now, your goal is due north.

Lhusu Mines/ Site 2
Enemies: Skull Defender, Skeleton
Treasure: In the narrow blue passage, before the large room, a chest might contain an Assassin's Dagger.
Guide: This twisty little number might seem hard to navigate, but just follow the main hall, then turn south and follow that tunnel, and you'll find your way to your destination. The large, imposing blue room in the north east corner. It just screams important eh?

So, you're being chased now, right? Yeah. You might think: I'm a protagonist, I can take these guys! Well...maybe. They are, actually, quite difficult at this point. Now, if you're in the high teens, low twenties and you just want a challenge, do it. However, be careful where you pick the fight. Doing it on one of the spans, where you're going to be dealing with them AND a bunch of skeletons, well, that's a bad place to make your stand. The northernmost section of Transitway 1 is a decent place to fight. At the most a single Steeling might get involved. Or the top of the stairs in Site 2, if it's devoid of Skull Defenders. If you're not feeling up to it, don't worry. There's no great loss for avoiding the fight. Hold down R2, and run like hell. You might want to take a look at the map before you start the fight, so you can know your escape route well. Your flight should take you to the Shaft Entry, where you will be free from pursuit. I recommend heading out of the mines entirely for a moment, and watching the interesting cutscene that follows.
