Final Fantasy XII - 27 - Old Archades

Overview: Time for Vaan to be the man about town. There's no fighting to be done, sure, but you cannot simply walk into Archades. You will have to work at it.

Old Archades/ Alley of Low Whispers

Guide: A shop! Sell what will no doubt be a king's randoms in loot. I had more than 300k after Sochen, and considering all the shiny new things up in the capital, you'll want to have at least 150k.

So, the key to success in this place is talking to every NPC you come across. They're all poor looking lay-abouts, true, but within the masses lie a few people with important tidbits of information. You can find the first here in the Alley of Low Whispers, down the northern deadend you'll find a man sitting on a flight of steps. A former broker who wronged many, after talking to him, head west to the circular path. Around the southern end of the circular path you can find a Shady Seeq, looking to sell you some moogles, kupo! What a sales pitch, but you'll have to turn him down. After you finish talking with him, head west to the next area.

Old Archades/ Alley of Muted Sighs

Guide: That's a chipper title. At the bottom of the northern steps just west of the entrance to the previous area, you can find a man talking to a Seeq who just found a bag of coins in a barrel. Interesting, interesting. Due west, sitting against a wall, is a man named Beasley, who just hide a bag of coins in a barrel. What are the odds? Head further west, past a streetear, Jules, who's no help at all, then south around the circular path, to the Save Crystal. Then, for humor's sake, go have a chat with the guards up the stairs to the capital. Cutscene time. Pay the lousy man his gil, and he'll tell you to take some of the information you heard to someone relevant. Do so, then return to Jules. The guards go running, and your way is clear. Bunansa? Wonder what that's all about. Either way, you're in. So enjoy it.
