Overview: Basch returns! As a Guest, that is. The unique challenge in this area is power. Like on the Giza Plains, you will have a power bar on your screen as you travel through this dungeon. However, many elements will act to drain that power, and keeping the lights on is much more important than fighting enemies. However, if you want to fight Zombies, then let the lights go out. However, you will have to get the power back to open Gates and progress through the dungeon.
Barheim Passage/ The Lightworks
Enemes: N/A
Guide: Be sure to check to small side room to the east, as it frequently has two or three chests. You're stuck in this room until you get the gate switchboard powered up. Examine the Timeworn Device on the upper level, then talk to Burrogh, who can give you the parts you need to get the device running. Install the Tube Fuse and you'll see your Charge fill to 100%. Now you can go open the gate to leave. However, as you might notice, opening the gate lowers your Charge by 30%. Before leaving, I suggest buying all the Spells that Burrogh has that you don't, the two new Gambits, and upgrading your weapons if you didn't do so already in Nalbina. Once you feel prepared, head south into the next area.
Barheim Passage/ Op Sector 29
Enemies:Battery Mimic, Tiny Mimic, Zombie*
Guide: After Balthier's run down, you'll be launched into combat with two Mimics and a Zombie. The Mimics are weak to Blizzard, and you should use it to quickly finish off the Mimic that's stealing power. Once dead, the power transfers back into the grid, and you'll see your Charge percent go up. However, you might notice it start to drop again. That means that another Mimic, somewhere on the same map, is stealing energy from another source. When they do this, a message will pop up in the upper left corner, like in combat. In this case, run south, then down the stairs and kill the second Battery Mimic before it drains the rest of the power. Don't worry about the Tiny Mimics, they can't drain power. But they are annoying. Once everything is dead and you have a moment to look around, do so, there is usually a Chest or two in the room. And don't worry about Battery Mimics on other maps stealing energy, they can only steal energy from the map you're currently on. The exit east takes you to the next area.
Barheim Passage/ Great Eastern Passage
Enemies: Battery Mimic, Tiny Mimic, Steeling
Guide: Right as you come in, you'll see two Battery Mimics. One begins to feed off the conduit near you. The other runs south, and as you can probably guess, is going to go sap energy from another location. With Blizzard, quickly kill off the first Mimic and then head south after his friend, he's down the right path of the
fork. You can see the sparking energy long before you can see the Mimic. After putting him out of business, head down the other path. Whenever you see a Battery Mimic hurry off somewhere: follow it. Also on this map, at the north pointing dead end, is the location map for the Barheim Passage. There are two exits at the southern end of the map. I recommend taking the western one first, and exploring the room beyond, before heading further south.
Barheim Passage/ Op Sector 36
Enemies: Battery Mimic, Tiny Mimic
Guide: Just north of the entrance is a Battery Mimic feeding on a conduit, and there's another at the bottom of the stairs. Remember to use Blizzard, and check for chests in the corners once they're dead. The platform at the southern end of the are actually looks over Op Sectory 37, but you won't see any enemies.
Barheim Passage/ Special Op Sector 3
Enemies: Battery Mimic, Tiny Mimic, Steeling, Flan
Guide: There are two exposed conduits, one to the west, one to the south. You'll run into a Battery Mimic at the split in the path, and he'll run south. Take him out. Afterwards, you might notice the gate blocking your exit south. You'll have to find the switch for it. Head back, then west and fight through the Flan, then take out the second Battery Mimic. Climb the stairs to the next area.
Barheim Passage/ Special Op Sector 37
Enemies: Battery Mimic, Flan, Bomb
Treasure: A chest in this area may contain a Mage Masher.
Guide: Just left of the entrance in a conduit and a Battery Mimic, and another one is lurking in the hallway that connects the two rooms of this area. At various points, a few Flan will drop in on the party, so keep your Fire spells handy. Up the stairs in the second room you'll find a switch to open the large gate back in Special Op Sector 3. Head back, then south through the now open passage.
Barheim Passage/ North-South Junction
Enemies: N/A
Guide: After a cutscene, you'll have a chance to save, and Basch will has sourced some equipment, making him much more useful. This might be a good point to spend some License Points, then head south when you're ready.
Barheim Passage/ Great Central Passage
Enemies: Battery Mimic, Tiny Mimic, Steeling, Mimic(Chest)
Guide: There's a Battery Mimic feeding on a conduit just south of the entrance, there are also many chests in this room, and not all of them are Treasure. Some are Mimics, and it can be difficult to tell the difference. The Mimic chests have more blue in their color, and appear teal, while the real chests are more bronze, with more green and brown in the color. If you mess up, it's not a big deal. These Mimics will just attack, they don't go after conduits. I
gnore the gate heading west, there's nothing you can do to open it until later in the game. Head south through this area.
Barheim Passage/ The Zeviah Subterrane
Enemies: Battery Mimic, Tiny Mimic, Mimic(Chest), Suriander
Treasure: The small 'island' off-map has a chest that can contain an Oaken Pole.
Guide: Two Battery Mimics will be right beside you when you enter the area. One will head south for a conduit, the other will probably stick around to attack. Knock them both out, then head around the bend in the path to the next conduit. Before heading to the next area, you should head south, to the are with the Surianders, and 'walk off the map.' There are usually a number of chests.
Barheim Passage/ Terminus No. 4 Adjunct
Enemies: N/A
Guide: Save up, and cast Protect on all your party members.
Barheim Passage/ Terminus No. 4
Enemies: Tiny Batteries, Mimic Queen
Guide: As soon as you enter the area, the boss battle starts.
Strategy: First, you should ignore the Tiny Batteries and focus on the Mimic Queen. Namely, you should focus on her with Blizzard. Like the Battery Mimics, she's weak to Blizzard, and a few round of it will put a serious dent in her HP. But don't use all of your MP on Blizzard, save some for healing. The Tiny Batteries won't attack you unless attacked, and the Queen's normal hits aren't that worrisome. Shockstorm and Ground Shaker hit a large area and do a good amount of damage. She'll start to use these when her HP drops, so be alert and heal up after she does one, because the other is usually right behind it.
