Welcome!

I'm Mr. 24 and I write guides for video games. I recommend clicking on the Table of Contents for the game you want, or using the Magic Search Box, rather than sifting through the posts for the one you need.

Enjoy!

Final Fantasy XII - 21 - Return to Mt. Bur-Omisace

Overview: Hop a Teleport Crystal to Mt. Bur-Omisace. I recommend selling all of your loot from Paramina Rift and the Stilshrine of Miriam, and if you didn't have the cash to upgrade your weapons or armor before, do so now. Aside from your normal Protect Gambits, a Regen Gambit is helpful in this instance. When you're prepared, head to the temple.

Mt. Bur-Omisace/ Hall of Light
Enemies: Judge Bergan, Imperial Judge
Guide: As soon as you enter, the battle begins.

Strategy: As always in these situations, you must clear out the scrubs before dealing with the main problem. This time though the Imperial Judges are actually quite strong. Bergan will take a moment coming over, but you'll have to work fast. Use Fira or some other area magic, and keep well healed, as Bergan will likely be standing behind you doing a few hundred damage each hit.
Once the Imperial Judges are taken care of, keep at Bergan with physical attack, and when his HP falls below half he will use Battle Cry, which increases his power and defense. At this point your mage will likely be spending all of his/her time healing. The most dangerous thing at this point is Bergan pulling off a combo. At 600-700 damage a hit, a three hit combo will likely kill any character at this level. I would rely on Phoenix Downs as opposed to Raise, because it's quicker. As always, Quickenings allow for a quick finish when he dips below twenty percent health, if you get a good string.

Guide: Once defeated more cutscenes await, and you have a new goal: Archades itself. There will be much walking. There will also be much temptation, as new weapons will become available after the battle with Bergan, however I do not recommend trading up yet. The weapons you purchased upon arrival at Mt. Bur-Omisace will suffice for a time. However, Dispel is now available, and if you have played any Final Fantasy before you know it is a supremely useful spell. Bio is also for sale, which is useful as it does non-elemental damage. And, in Rabanastre, there are a lot of Technicks for sale. Some helpful, some useless.
Bergan is a tough boss, but if you found the fight with him overly difficult, or died too many times while attempting it, you may wish to do some training. A simple matter, rather than using a Teleport Crystal to reach Nalbina, walk back. The battles along the way should give you a boost, a few extra levels, and a fair number of LP, especially since you're using a Golden Amulet, yes?
Once you feel prepared, head north from the West Barbican in Nalbina.
