Welcome!

I'm Mr. 24 and I write guides for video games. I recommend clicking on the Table of Contents for the game you want, or using the Magic Search Box, rather than sifting through the posts for the one you need.

Enjoy!

Final Fantasy XII - 24 - Phon Coast

Overview: Beautiful place this, and decent music, and quite large. When it's sunny, which it almost always is on your first journey through, there's not much to worry about, but during cloudy and rainy weather, you can find Air Elemental in some areas, so be careful and keep a weather eye on the horizon. A word of advice: You can make a great deal of money in this area, and it's helpful, as you'll want to upgrade your equipment soon. I recommend two Gambits: Foe:100% HP - Steal, and Foe:HP Critical - Poach. Between the two you can get tens of thousands of gil from the Bagoly and Pyrolisk, and helpful stuff from all of the monsters. Lots of treasure here, AND THE LAST SET OF FORBIDDEN CHESTS. Yes indeed, on the beach in the Vaddu Strand are sixteen chests sitting in a square pattern. Touch none of them. One of them, if opened, will prevent you from getting the strongest weapon in the game. The others just have Knots of Rust, but if you wait and equip a Diamond Armlet, they will contain Dark Matter, a rare substance.

Phon Coast/ Kaukula Pass
Guide: Balthier gives a pep talk in a little cutscene, afterwards you should save up and head out.

Phon Coast/ Reseta Strand
Enemies: Silver Lobo, Mandragora, Pyrolisk, Piranha, Iguion
Treasure: In the northern section of the area, a chest might contain a Metal Jerkin.
Guide: Quite a large area, with a lot of new monsters to get used to. The biggest issue is dealing with the flying Pyrolisk. They're weak to Ice, so Blizzara work, Bio also can deal with them. Of the two southern exits, take the southwestern one to the next area.

Phon Coast/ The Mauleia Strand
Enemies: Silver Lobo, Iguion, Mandragora, Pyrolisk, Bangaa Pirate, Aspara (Rare Game)
Treasure: There are many chest along the southern edge of the map, one of which may contain a Murasame.
Guide: Another wide spanning coastal area, be sure to check the coast and the southern point for chests. Head east and inland from here to the next area.

Phon Coast/ Pora-Pora Sands
Enemies: Silver Lobo, Iguion, Bagoly, Pyrolisk, Air Elemental (When raining)
Treasure: In the northeastern section of the area, a chest might contain an Aldebaran.
Guide: At the north end of this area you'll see a Game Hunter standing just off map, and he'll tell you that the area will, in the future, but open for chocobo traffic, which will be useful then... For the moment though, you'll have to go the long way, so move through here and exit to the southwest.

Phon Coast/ Cape Tialan
Enemies: Mandragora, Silver Lobo, Pyrolisk, Iguion, Skullash (Trophy Game)
Treasure: In the southeastern section of the map, many chest spawn, and you might find a Halberd, Diamond Shield, Aldebaran, and Gokuu Pole. You can also find the Foe: Wind-Weak gambit here.
Guide: Watch out for the pack of angry Pyrolisks in the middle of this area, they can be dangerous if you get the whole flock attacking you at once. When you're done here, head northeast to the next area.

Phon Coast/ Cape Uahuk
Enemies: Silver Lobo, Pyrolisk, Bagoly
Treasure: In the southeastern area are chests that might contain a Black Garb and Black Cowl.
Guide: Head east, around the ridge and past the flocks of Bagoly. Their Aerora can get annoying, so keep an eye on your health. Exit to the east.

Phon Coast/ Hunter's Camp
Guide: Finally, a rest stop! And a cutscene no less. After watching it you should save and sell your loot. I recommend upgrading your equipment finally, and you should take the chance to pick up any new Hunts. Also, the Cartographer Moogle is hidden away in the northern end of the area. When you're done, you can head back west and check out The Hakawea Shore, or forge ahead, and exit to the north.

Phon Coast/ The Hakawea Shore
Enemies: Silver Lobo, Pyrolisk, Mandragora, Iguion
Guide: This is a useful map if you have any Gyshal Greens, as you can find a wild chocobo to ride, instead of shelling out for the rental from Gurdy. Otherwise, pretty standard for Phon Coast.

Phon Coast/ Caima Hills
Enemies: Silver Lobo, Bagoly, Archeaosaur
Treasure: Near the Hunter's Camp entrance, a chest might contain a Thorned Mace.
Guide: You can also find a wild chocobo here. I wonder if this Gurdy does any business? Watch out for the dinosaur, he's scary looking but you can take him. Also, you can steal the rare Tanned Tyrant Hide from him. To the southeast is the Vaddu Strand, and to the northeast is the Limatra Hills and your overall goal.

Phon Coast/ The Vaddu Strand
Enemies: Piranha, Silver Lobo, Mandragora, Pyrolisk, Thalassinon (Trophy Game)
Guide: I shall mention again: DO NOT TOUCH THE CHESTS. This is a good place to hunt Piranha, just run along the coast line and they'll pop out of the sea.

Phon Coast/ Limatra Hills
Enemies: Silver Lobo, Bagoly, Archeaosaur, Pyrolisk, Air Elemental (When raining)
Treasure: Near the Caima Hills entrance, you might find a chest with an Adamant Hat, and a chest that contains a Recurve Crossbow near the other exit.
Guide: Head northeast and grab the chests along the way, and don't forget to check on the southern side of the ridge for chests and monsters, and a short cut? Yup, there's an off-map shortcut between the Vaddu Strand and the Limatra Hills. When you're done, exit to the east.

Phon Coast/ Rava's Pass
Guide: Save up and take a moment to talk to the Viera, if you do so with Fran as your party leader, you will get a special bit of dialog. When you're ready, the next area awaits.
