The Tomb of Raithwall/ Valley of the Dead
Enemies: Garuda
Guide: When you appear here, you have a final moment to make preparations. Have everyone equip ranged weapons, have Protect on, then head into the open.
Strategy: Garuda hits fast and hard. He can easily kill a full health party member in thirty seconds or so. He manages this because of his Enrage Status. However, if you obtained the Eskir Berries in the Nam-Yensa, you can use them here to remove his Enrage Status and lower his attack power, his speed, and his combo rate. Make sure to use the item on him, and not yourself. After using these you can inflict Blind, greatly reducing his effectiveness. Finally, your mage would be well served with a Gambit of Enemy: Party Leader's Target - Dark. Garuda is weak to Dark, and it will inflict serious damage while your other party members attack it. Vossler will spend the battle using Telekinesis, which is better than nothing.
After defeating Garuda, the ancient device at the top of the Tomb will come to life, and you'll see a small cutscene. Dyce will now brave the Valley of the Dead, and you can find him at the bottom of the steps. He has new Weapons, Armor, Items, and Spells. I'd recommend upgrading your weapons and armor, and getting all the new Spells. It is a bit of money, but it'll be a good while before you should need to upgrade again. Besides, your trek through the Sandsea should have yielded a decent amount of Loot to sell. Once you're prepared to enter the Tomb, save at the Teleport Crystal, then activate the ancient device.
The Tomb of Raithwall/ Hall of the Destroyer
Enemies: Demon Wall
Guide: The Way Stone directly in front of you will be unresponsive, so you'll have to hoof it for the moment. Head west and- Well snap. That's a Demon Wall. For anyone who cares to know, this boss is a reference to the Demon Wall you fight in Final Fantasy VII, in the Temple of the Ancients. However, you're probably not going to fight him right now. He's much stronger than you, and ugly to boot. Hold flee and head west through the doors.
The Tomb of Raithwall/ Hall of the Sentinel
Enemies: Demon Wall
Guide: Okay, this one you have to fight. But he's a much more realistic challenge.
Strategy: As soon as you gain control, head west as fast as you can. This fight is a lot about managing status effects. The Demon Wall likes to cast Blindaga, and having everyone stop and cast Blinda would take forever. I recommend Eye Drops here. Also, when he gets low on health, he likes to cast Telega, and send one of your characters into the X-Zone. Yup, X-Zone. It's been a while (Final Fantasy VI, unless I'm mistaken) since that status effect was used, but here it is. You cannot use Raise or a Phoenix Down to get someone back from the X-Zone, you'll just have to deal with it. The good news is, the Demon Wall doesn't have a whole lot of HP, and its normal attacks are pretty tame. If you can string a few Quickenings together, do so, and you'll end the battle quickly. If you need to though, you can use the torches along the walkway. When the Demon Wall reaches these, activate them, and it will halt his progress for a moment.
After dealing with Demon Wall 2.0, head west into the next area.
The Tomb of Raithwall/ Royal Passage
Enemies: Seeker, Barmuu (Rare Game)
Guide: Any party member sent to the X-Zone will reappear when you move to the next screen. After watching a short cutscene, head down the stairs. The location map for this area is here on the central platform, as well as three Way Stones. The blue one is now active, and you can use it to return to the Hall of the Destroyer, without bothering with the Demon Wall. The other two Way Stones are not yet active. Head north or south, it doesn't matter much which way you go first, and enter the Northfall or Southfall Passage.
The Tomb of Raithwall/ Northfall Passage
Enemies: Zombie, Lesser Chimera, Ragoh, Zombie Lord (Trophy Game)
Treasure: In the northeastern corner a chest might contain a Longbow, and near the central device a chest might contain Gillie Boots.
Guide: Snake through the winding tunnels until you reach the central room. Here will be a dormant Way Stone and the Northfall Pedestal. Activate the Pedestal, and it will lower a stone barrier half way, summon some Zombie Mages to keep you company, and activate the Way Stone. Take care of the Mages, then progress through the area to the lower exit back out to the Royal Passage.
Among the new enemies, the immobile Ragoh deserves mention, because it will at times self-destruct, causing a real problem for your party.
After returning to the Royal Passage, head to the southern side and enter the Southfall Passage.
The Tomb of Raithwall/ Southfall Passage
Enemies: Ragoh, Lesser Chimera, Skull Warrior, Lich, Lost Soul, Cultsworn Lich (Rare Game)
Treasure: In the southeastern corner a chest might contain an Iron Hammer.
Guide: Like the Northfall Passage, head deeper into the maze until you reach the central room with the Southfall Pedestal and the Way Stone. Activate it, and you will be greeted by Liches instead of Zombie Mages, and the stone barrier will fully descend. You can now go "off map" to the next area, or head to the lower exit back into the Royal Passage.
Once the stone barrier is removed, you can head deeper into the Tomb, this can be done from either side.
The Tomb of Raithwall/ Cloister of Flame
Enemies: Belias
Guide: There are a number of walkways around the area, but at the lowest point waits Belias. Approach his platform to begin the battle.
Strategy: Belias is a respectable opponent. One of the most crucial parts of this battle is controlling the Oil status effect. He inflicts it when he casts Firaja. Any character inflicted with it will take double damage from all of his Fire-based attacks. Also, your mage should focus on casting Water as often as possible. At half life he will cast Greater Barrier, but keep on him, there's nothing you can do about it. When he gets down to critical HP, I recommend unleashing a string of Quickenings to finish the battle, or switch everyone over to casting Water.
After his defeat, continue through the Ancient Door.
The Tomb of Raithwall/ Chamber of First Light
Enemies: N/A
Guide: Head to the far western end of the room to activate a cutscene, then use the Way Stone for a quick way out.
Once outside, I recommend saving, though you won't be able to teleport at the moment. Head down into the valley when you're ready, and will you look at that. Damn Imperials.
Shiva
Enemies: Vossler, Imperial Swordsmen x3
Guide: As soon as you regain control, you'll be thrown into a boss battle.
Strategy: Firstly, don't discount Fran because of her Berserk Status. If she isn't your party mage, keep her on, and watch her do crazy damage. To begin, I recommend using Aero to clear out the Swordsmen so you can focus on Vossler. Once his HP drops below half, he will cast Enrage, which will allow him to attack instantly and reach a 12 hit Chain. Soon after his Enrage is activated, you should begin a Quickening Chain, which will deplete the rest of his HP.
Once defeated you will enjoy a long string of cutscenes, and finally when you regain control, you will be in the Rabanastre's Muthru Bazaar.
If you're interesting in a method of acquring Demonsbane swords: You must defeat the first Demon Wall, the optional one. Once defeated you can touch the Blue Crystal in the wall where he appeared. Then, you can access an area where a chest might spawn and might have the sword within it. This can be done multiple times.
